Cut a clean, lidded Pringles can into 3 sections. Throw away the middle section. Cover the two
cans with strips of construction paper. (you may laminate the strips ahead of time) Fill each can with
crayons.

INDIVIDUAL MAILBOXES
These mailboxes fit on the back of the students' chairs. Cut the top off a cereal box. Cut away portions
of the sides and front. Cover the box with Contact paper. Let the students decorate their own mailboxes
with names, pictures, stickers, etc. Punch two holes near the top of the box back and thread yarn through
holes. Tie it to the back of the student's chair. This mailbox can be used for papers, art projects, etc.
**Note: Front of box is cut so that is is lower than back.

THE GIVING TREE
I always put up a giant tree at the first of the school year and labeled it "The Giving Tree". Make
green leaves from construction paper and label them with supplies needed for the classroom, such as tissues,
glue, index cards, etc. Let the parents browse the tree in the beginning days and you will be surprised
what supplies you will get! This tree can be kept up all year--maybe leaves will be replaced with snowflakes, etc. You
can keep adding to the supply list.

MESS-FREE GLUING
Tables seem to take the brunt of gluing projects! Here's an idea! Glue a large sheet of colored construction paper
onto an even larger sheet of white mural or easel paper. You can write "Glue Mat" at the top. Laminate these sheets
and place on a shelf to be used for messy art projects!

"Life Line" or "Circle of Life So Far"
I use either a square colored poster board or I cut a large circle out of one. I ask for pictures of the child from birth to present time. I teach 4 year olds. I then mont the pictures and ask the child to tell me about the picture and I write their description below the picture. I then line the hall outside my room with the little stories and pictures for Back To School Night. It's a real hit and is loved by the parents.
